School Supplies!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to "the Blog"! LOL We'll use this to show everyone what cool things we are doing in class, post announcements, and other cool stuff.

Anyone getting excited for the new year? I know I am. I was able to order our history and science curriculum yesterday. Hopefully it will be in while I'm at family camp next week. Then it will be time to buckle down and get the year planned.

Anyway, I finished the school supply list. Now y'all can go take advantage of all those great back to school sales that are going on right now. I'm going to attach a copy to this post, on the church website, and have them at church on Sunday.

HIGH SCHOOLERS: Don't forget your summer assignment! You are to research a potential career field and find out what you have to do to become one. What kind of schooling would you need? What is your earning potential? What is the job outlook (i.e. are there jobs out there?) Where would you work? Could you do it? WRITE IT DOWN!

School Supplies for Main Street Christian School 2012-2013

Glue sticks (at least three for the year)

Scissors (blunt ended for younger kids, pointed for older ones)

Ballpoint pens (Black or Blue only please!)

No. 2 pencils (Stick with this classic to avoid classroom competition over whose writing utensil is the coolest — or most impractical.)

Colored pencils

A pencil sharpener (hand-held with a top to collect shavings)

A large pink eraser (The old-fashioned ones do the best erasing.)

markers

A four-ounce bottle of white glue

Highlighters

5 Spiral-bound notebooks (wide ruled for K-3, college ruled for 4-12)

A 3 inch three-ring binder

1 package Loose-leaf notebook paper (wide ruled for K-3, college ruled for 4-12)

2 Pocket folders

A ruler with English and metric measurements

A protractor

A sturdy, supportive backpack, large enough to fit a folder into

A box of crayons (Get a 16-pack for younger kids, more for older ones.)

Pencil Box large enough for storing all pencils, pens, ect.

A calculator  (scientific or graphing. Scientific will be adequate unless your student will take Calculus or Trig in high school. If you already have a graphing calculator, they may use that.)
